Andrew Ginger, who is owner and operator of Barrett & Coe Leighton Buzzard, first approached Barrett & Coe at The National Franchise Exhibition in 2010 and then opened his studio in 2013.
Having worked in the security industry for over twenty years, Andrew was employed by a large multi-national security company as Operations Director for the south of the UK for the last ten years, before becoming a franchisee.
Andrew says “Having been a very keen amateur photographer I first looked seriously at Barrett & Coe in 2010. I did some research and then attended the National Franchise Exhibition where Barrett & Coe were exhibiting. By this time, I had decided that the only way to succeed in what is a very competitive industry was to obtain the support and guidance that a franchise provides. I was immediately impressed as they obviously knew what they were talking about. I was also impressed with the lack of the hard sales approach that I was expecting.
The training, both photography and business-based, and the support and assistance was, and is, great. The information sharing and communication with all the other franchisees is excellent and I feel part of the family!
Andrew specialises in Baby, Family, Pet and Makeover photography. He says “I really enjoy baby photography. Even photographing hundreds of babies every year, each one has their own personality and making a connection with them is important to get great results.” Andrew particularly enjoys being able to enter the Baby of the Month competition and has had great success, winning numerous times over the years, and he has also achieved Licentiate Level with The Master Photographers Association.
Finally, Andrew says “Being a rather ambitious individual, my aim is to hit the top of the franchisee sales list, but equally important is the freedom of owning my own business. Having said that, the discipline of reporting to a large franchise organisation is also a massive plus as maintains the discipline necessary not to let things slip!”
